Hong Thai is a commune located near the Vietnam - Laos border, recognized as one of the most economically disadvantaged areas in A Luoi. Over 91% of the population here is of Ta Oi ethnic group, with livelihoods primarily center on agriculture and forestry.

On the morning of November 2, the University of Agriculture and Forestry, Hue University opened the “Career orientation and opportunities fair for animal science and veterinary medicine 2024” for students of the University’s Faculty of Animal Science and Veterinary Medicine.

On March 10, the University of Agriculture and Forestry, Hue University organized the Open Day program, attracting the participation of more than 700 12th grade students from high schools in Thua Thien Hue province.

Prof, Dr. Hoang Thi Thai Hoa, Head of the Department of Agronomy, University of Agriculture and Forestry, Hue University, who has made many contributions to science over the past 28 years, has just received the 2023 Kovalevskaia Award.

This is the issue raised at the 2023 Students’ Scientific Research Conference, which took place at the University of Agriculture and Forestry, Hue University on the afternoon of May 14. The conference was attended by experts from three member universities of Hue University, including University of Agriculture and Forestry, University of Medicine and Pharmacy, and University of Education, along with nearly 400 students.

From the Hue lotus with a close and familiar appearance, researchers at the University of Agriculture and Forestry, Hue University have "transformed" each part of the traditional lotus plant into attractive products on Vietnamese people's dining tables and living rooms; and, it is going to be exported to America in the near future.

In response to the policy of planting 1 billion trees and celebrating Vietnam's Forestry Day (November 28th), in recent days, forestry units and forest owners have planted thousands of indigenous trees such as green ironwood, cycads, tarrietia javanica blume (huynh), golden oaks, etc. All these plants are able to adapt to climate change and prevent landslides very effectively.

Growing orchids is no longer a hobby for the elderly and retirees, it is also chosen by young people of all ages and occupations. Grasping that trend, a number of establishments and businesses have turned to invest in this field, such as Tien Phong Forestry one number state limited company. In addition to the task of protecting and developing forest, planting medicinal plants, ornamental and plants annually..., the company has recently nursed orchids to sell to the market to meet the needs of flower lovers and limit the exploitation of natural forest orchids.

On the days of late autumn and early winter, taking advantage of the sunny weather, a team of rangers and forestry experts carried many things into the remote forest of Sao La Nature Reserve (A Luoi District)… Not to investigate deforestation, not to set camera traps or to rescue animals, this time they embarked on a journey to seek native forest tree varieties from the natural forest in order to perform the mission of planting forest tree varieties and conserving rare genetic resources.
