The Provincial Union of Scientific and Technical Associations, representing the Provincial Technical Innovation Contest organizing committe, has just released information on Thua Thien Hue’s participation and achievements at the 17th National Technical Innovation Competition (2022-2023) and the Science and Technology Innovation Awards of Vietnam in 2023.

On the morning of December 26, the Provincial Folk Arts Association organized a scientific seminar themed "Folk culture of Thua Thien Hue - Values, challenges and orientations for preservation and promotion".

The cultural heritage left by the Nguyen Dynasty in Hue, in particular, and Vietnam in general, is extremely voluminous, including historical, cultural, landscape, artistic, scientific, and economic values... Over the years, preserving and promoting those cultural values have been highly appreciated. However, there are still some inadequacies, difficulties, and limitations.

This was the theme of the International Research Conference jointly hosted by the Italian Embassy and UNESCO Vietnam, which was organized by Marche Polytechnic University and Hue University of Sciences on December 7th at the Italian Cultural Center in Hanoi. This event marks final activity of a three-year scientific collaboration among these three institutions.

Mutual support in university administration, training, scientific research, and technology transfer, etc., were the key components of the memorandum of cooperation signed between Hue University and Vietnam National University, Ho Chi Minh City (VNU-HCM) on the afternoon of December 4th.

As the Department of Cultural Heritage under the Ministry of Culture, Sports and Tourism announced, on November 18th, Mr. Nguyen Van Hung, the Minister of Culture, Sports and Tourism, Mr. Dinh Toan Thang, Vietnamese Ambassador to France, Ms. Le Thi Hong Van, Head of the Permanent Delegation of Vietnam to United Nations Educational, Scientific and Cultural Organization (UNESCO), Ms. Le Thi Thu Hien, Director General of the Department of Cultural Heritage, together with representatives from Ministry of Public Security (Vietnam), the Ministry for Europe and Foreign Affairs of France, and UNESCO, witnessed the transfer ceremony of the ‘Emperor’s Treasure’ golden seal to Vietnam on the afternoon of November 16th at the Vietnamese Embassy in France.

On the afternoon of September 22, within the framework of the Hue Innovation Day 2023 Forum, the Vietnam National Institute of Culture and Arts Studies collaborated with the Thua Thien Hue Institute for Development Studies to organize a scientific workshop entitled “Thua Thien Hue - A distinctive cultural heritage city of Vietnam, sustainable development through green growth, and adaptation to climate change.”

On September 21, Thua Thien Hue Museum of History coordinated with members of the “Review Council of dossier on the relics in Thua Thien Hue Province" to implement a field survey at a number of proposed buildings and sites to compile a scientific dossier for ranking relics in 2023.

On the afternoon of September 6, the French Institute in Hue and the Cooperation Committee for Research in Social Sciences and Humanities, University of Education, Hue University organized a scientific conference with the theme "Happiness and Wealth".

A scientist from Hue University has just won the International Award of the French Academy of Sciences. That one is Dr. Tran Quang Hoa, Vice Dean of Faculty of Mathematics, University of Education, Hue University.
