“I am always worried that time passes by too quickly while I am too slow to do many things for my children and grandchildren in the future”, elder Hanh expressed his concern upon gazing at Truong Son (Annamite) mountain range in the distance. For generations, Pa Co people of his kind have taken refuge at the foot of this mountain range. Seeing the traditional culture of their ancestors gradually fading away over the years makes his heart ache, so he must do everything he can to preserve and conserve the beauty of his people.

On the morning of June 25, Hue Monuments Conservation Center in collaboration with the Provincial Department of Culture and Sports organized a ceremony to offer incense and flowers, and a procession of gratitude to the ancestor on the occasion of the death anniversary of Lord Nguyen Phuc Khoat, the person who laid the foundation of Vietnamese ao dai.

On the morning of March 12, the Alliance of Arts and Literature Association of Vietnam in collaboration with the Vietnam Association of Photographic Artists in Thua Thien Hue and Thua Thien Hue Photography Association to hold a ceremony of offering flowers and incense to commemorate the celebrity Dang Huy Tru, the ancestor of Vietnam’s photography at the ancestral house of worship of the Dang Family (Thanh Luong village, Huong Xuan ward, Huong Tra town).

"This (digitizing photos) helps the descendants not have to spend time imagining how their ancestors looked like," explained Trung. He said that digitizing photos could be roughly like photoshopping the photos after capturing them. The only difference is that users have to buy separated software and pay annually.

The collection and digitization of Han-Nom (Sino-Demotic characters) documentary heritage has been carried out for many years in many clans, private residences, villages and communes throughout the province. On the early morning of January 10, lunar calendar (on February 10, 2022), the villagers of Lại Ân (also known as Sình village, in Phú Mậu commune - Hue city) went to the communal house to perform rituals to Thanh Hoang (Tutelary god), worship ancestors and organize “vật lệ” (a small-scale wrestling event) in front of the communal house yard.
