On the morning of September 28, the Golden Sands Golf Resort golf course (located in Vinh Xuan and Vinh Thanh communes, Phu Vang district) officially opened and welcomed enthusiasts of the world's 600-year-old elite sport.

In the joyful atmosphere, celebrating the 79th anniversary of the August Revolution and National Day September 2, the Department of Culture and Sports organized the 35th Traditional Boat Racing Competition of Thua Thien Hue province on the morning of September 2, with the participation of 9 units from wards and communes of 9 districts, towns and Hue City.

On July 20th, the provincial Red Cross Society, Oxfam in Vietnam, and the New Zealand Embassy in Hanoi organized a summary workshop for the project “Post-COVID-19 livelihood recovery for female farmers in particularly difficult and for difficult communes in Thua Thien Hue.” The event was attended by Ms. Caroline Rachel Beresford, New Zealand Ambassador to Vietnam.

As a land with historical traditions and cultural depth dating back many centuries, Hue is an important political, economic, cultural and artistic center of the country, and has now expanded its area four times, from 70.67 km2 to 265.99 km2, with 29 wards and 7 communes.

Just at the beginning of the beach tourism season, the beaches in Quang Cong and Quang Ngan communes (Quang Dien district) have already attracted a large number of visitors to visit and relax. This is the initial result from the self-renewal efforts and the methodical investments.

The collection and digitization of Han-Nom (Sino-Demotic characters) documentary heritage has been carried out for many years in many clans, private residences, villages and communes throughout the province. This quiet work is still being pursued by staff of the Provincial General Library, in the hope of preserving the ancient documents passed down by our ancestors.

As a locality having the largest area of centella asiatica growing in the provincial area, with around 70 hectares concentrating in Phuoc Yen and La Van Thuong communes, including 52 hectares of centella asiatica grown following the standard of VietGAP, Quang Tho has built centella asiatica as a main OCOP product. Products made of centella asiatica such as matcha centella powder, centella juice, dried centella, etc. are also the favorite choices in the market.

Every year, before the rainy season, people in “aquaculture barns” such as Chuon lagoon, coastal communes of Phu Vang, Phu Loc, Phong Dien, Huong Tra, Hue city regularly inspects their ponds and cages to harvest fish and shrimp to avoid damage caused by storms and floods.

Subsequent to one full year of Hue City administrative boundary expansion, the urban infrastructure from the central area to new communes and wards has been connected and perfected, contributing to the socio-economic development promotion. The Weekend Thua Thien Hue correspondent had a talk with Deputy Secretary of the City Party Committee, Chairman of Hue City People's Committee, Mr. Vo Le Nhat.

On January 11, Kind Heart Foundation (Vingroup) has coordinated with Green Lotus Foundation (Thua Thien Hue Newspaper) to present Tet gifts to the poor and difficult households in mountainous communes of Phong Dien District.
