On the afternoon of December 18, a National Scientific Conference themed “Promoting the value of Hue traditional music in cultural and tourism development” took place at Saigon Morin Hotel. The conference was jointly organized by Thua Thien Hue Provincial Union of Science and Technology Associations and relevant agencies.

Continuing the activities of the Trinh Cong Son Foundation, the family of the late musician Trinh Cong Son will co-organize the “Flowers and Garbage” art and music performance program in Hue.

On October 28, Mr. Tran Xuan Vinh, Chairman of Thua Thien Hue Association of fellow-countrymen in Ho Chi Minh City said that the association held a poetry and music gala titled “Little love for Hue”, which raised 600 million VND to support community projects in hometown area.

On the evenings of October 19 and 20, nearly 1,000 spectators gathered at the Song Huong Theater to immerse themselves in a music night themed “Hue Symphony - The Symphony of the Ancient Capital”. The performance “Thien dia giao hoa” (Harmony of Heaven and Earth) and the orchestral and dance performance "Anh duong" (Sunlight) have won silver medals at the second phase of the 2024 National music and dance Festival, held in Binh Duong province.

At the 7th Ancient Capital Literature and Arts Awards, musician Le Quang Vu (born in 1968) with his Symphony Poetry “Green City along the Perfume River” won the A prize in the music category. That being said, he is also known by the musicians in particular and music lovers in general as the “conductor” of Hue Brass Orchestra.

In Hue, not many people play the Western saxophone because this musical instrument is not only difficult in terms of technique but also requires a lot of health. With a powerful but melodious saxophone sound and a confident performance style, Nguyen Huynh Thai Binh, a second-year student majoring in Western musical instrument performance at the Hue Academy of Music, is a rising young star of the saxophone world in the Ancient Capital.

As part of their tour in Vietnam, the concert duo consisting of cellist Reinhard Armleder and pianist Dagmar Hartmann from Germany will perform a concert at the Song Huong Theater of Hue Academy of Music on the evening of September 5th.

On the afternoon of August 18, at the Pediatrics Department of Hue Central Hospital, the Hue Brass Band held a music performance on the occasion of Ullambana Festival.

The music night "Dialogue with Trinh Cong Son - Love Found," part of the Hue International Festival Week 2024, that took place last weekend, brought the audience a surge of emotions as they were immersed in the melodies of the talented Hue musician under the pouring rain.

Today, the children learned to sing the song "Teachers and Friends" written in the tune of Dang Dan Cung. Following the teacher's tapping rhythm, the cheerful lyrics and melodies of the song were paused and sung by the children in rhythm.

The village elders and young people here appreciate and are aware of preserving traditional culture and promoting this unique art form.
