The Digital Transformation Week - Hue 2024, themed “Artificial Intelligence (AI) Accelerating Socio-Economic Development,” is expected to present solutions for digital transformation (DT) utilizing AI, contributing to the advancement of the digital society and digital economy. Mr. Nguyen Duong Anh, Deputy Director of the Department of Information and Communications, shared insights about this important initiative with Thua Thien Hue Weekly.

This is the goal set by Hue University. Achieving this will not only enhance the role and position of the Institute of Biotechnology in particular and Hue University in general but also the status of the centrally governed city in the coming time. Vietnam is preparing to enter the peak season for international tourists. Based on the strong growth rate of the tourism industry in the early months of 2024, the provincial tourism sector is implementing many solutions to prepare for the anticipated influx of foreign visitors.

According to experts, the number of tourists choosing golf tourism products is growing rapidly, illustrating the potential for developing this industry. Hue is making efforts to call for investment, while at the same time, deploying many solutions to attract high-end tourists of this category.

Identifying the enhancement of commercial promotion activities as a crucial factor contributing to improving the efficiency of production and business operations for enterprises, serving as a bridge to promote collaboration opportunities among enterprises, distributors, and consumers, Hue City has implemented various solutions to promote commercial promotion activities within its jurisdiction.

Within the framework of the implementation of the national-level independent project on “Studying and evaluating the current status of the avifauna, and proposing solutions for management and conservation of bird species in coastal lagoon area in Central Vietnam”, which is presided over by the Central Coast Natural History Museum, the Provincial Department of Science and Technology, and implemented by Dr. Ho Thang, the project leader, the research team has recorded the glossy ibis (Plegadis falcinellus) for the first time in the O Lau estuary of Tam Giang - Cau Hai lagoon.

For the 3rd time in a row, Hue City won the ASEAN Clean Tourism City Award - an opportunity for Hue's tourism sector to effectively market its tourism business activities. With many solutions adopted by the province, maintaining the clean tourism city brand is also synonymous with strong growth in harmony with sustainable criteria.

Collaboration plays a crucial role in promoting tourism development. In 2024, as the leader of the tourism development partnership among five localities in Central Vietnam, Thua Thien Hue province will propose and implement various solutions to enhance the effectiveness of collaboration, promote tourism, and contribute to the development of the smoke-free industry.

Economic and industrial zones in the province are key areas for attracting investment. However, in order to capture the attention of significant investors, it is necessary to create an open environment with many solutions to support businesses. Regarding this issue, Thua Thien Hue Weekly had an exchange with Mr. Le Van Tue, Head of the Provincial Economic and Industrial Zones Management Board.

In 2023, tourism activities in the area of Hue City have recovered and shown good growth. The number of tourists visiting Hue has increased significantly, especially international tourists, leading to a substantial rise in the overall retail sales of goods and services. This contributed to Hue City achieving and surpassing all 12 economic and social targets for the year.
