Thua Thien Hue has preserved many craft villages and handed down many unique traditional crafts. With abundant cultural tourism resources and natural tourism assets, it can combine them with craft and traditional village tourism. This provides a foundation for the Ancient Capital to develop a tourism model that complements its strengths in cultural and heritage tourism.

In 2025, Thua Thien Hue is selected to host the National Tourism Year. This is an opportunity for the tourism of the Ancient Capital to make connections and to show all of its potentials and strengths, contributing to developing its tourism and making it the main economic sector of the province.

On October 30, Mr. Nguyen Van Phuong, Deputy Secretary of the Provincial Party Committee, Chairman of the Provincial People’s Committee, had a courtesy meeting and discussion with Ms. Alexandra Elizabeth Smith, Consul General of the United Kingdom of Great Britain and Northern Ireland in Vietnam. Attending the meeting were leaders of relevant departments, agencies, and branches.

After the complete liberation of the South, the country was unified, Thua Thien Hue remained a locality bearing many scars of war; the lives of the people were extremely difficult; many buildings, architectures were desolate and in ruins. But it is also from here that the Ancient Capital is not alone on its journey of revival from desolation and gradually developing in a sustainable manner, with the goal of striving to become a centrally-governed city with its own unique strengths.

To reach sustainable tourism development, running towards green tourism is indispensable. Thua Thien Hue has special strengths of cultural, historical, and landscape, as well as environmental resources to develop tourism; and, carrying out cooperation to develop green tourism is one of the goals.

With its own strengths and unique characteristics, Thua Thien Hue has built and developed ecotourism products at streams and waterfalls, being predicted to create a breakthrough in ecotourism.

This project is in keeping with the province's resources and socio-economic development orientation. Also, it is believed to be able to exploit and promote the strengths of the culture and people of Hue as well as developing cultural industries.

This is Thuy Tien Lake Water Park located on Thien An hill - a hill with poetic pine forests, an ideal tourist destination for locals and tourists when coming to Hue.

Digital transformation in production in business activities is a long and complicated process, so each enterprise in Hue must be totally aware of their strengths, specific goals and benefits to aim for sustainable development.
