The collection of essays and notes, “A Yellow Apricot tree in front of the house: Notes on Hue - The elegant land of moss” (Vietnam Women’s Publishing House), was introduced by its author, Minh Tu, journalist, to book lovers at Hanoi’s Book Street (Hoan Kiem District, Hanoi).

The collection of essays and notes "Truoc nha co cay hoang mai: Nhung ghi chep ve Hue - xu so phong reu kieu sa" after more than 8 years appearing in the literary world has now been reprinted, with additions and revisions. More notably, in this reprint, there is also an English edition “Yellow Apricot tree in the front yard: Fascinating stories about Hue - an ancient, poetic and glamorous land”.

“Coi mai vang Tinh Tam” (roughly translated as “Tranquillity from the Root of Yellow Apricot”) is the title of an exhibition by Le Van Loi, a Buddhism retired scholar, displayed at the Intercultural Meeting Point (Bach Dang Street, Hue City) from March 28th to April 3rd.

The Yellow Apricot - Hoang Mai flower is a symbol of spring, family reunion, harmony between heaven and earth, and the nation. It has surpassed its value as a flower to become a symbol of the Ancient Capital.

As part of activities of Hue Festival 2024, on the morning of February 1st, at Thuong Bac Park (Tran Hung Dao Street, Hue City), the opening ceremony of the 2nd edition of Yellow Apricot Festival in Hue took place. This festival is organized to honor the distinctive flower species of the ancient capital - the Yellow Apricot of Hue.

On the morning of July 4, Standing Deputy Secretary of the Provincial Party Committee Phan Ngoc Tho, along with departments and branches made a field trip to inspect the management and conservation of Hue yellow apricot trees in the city area.

On a chilly winter morning, we went to Bon Tri village (Huong An ward, Huong Tra town) to admire tens of thousands of nearly one-year-old yellow apricot trees blooming.

Officially on display from January 9, but until January 11, the 320 works of yellow apricot participating in the exhibition were fully converged on Thuong Bac Park, by the bank of the romantic Huong river.

According to those seeking apricots in Hue and across the country, the longer the yellow apricot grows, the bigger the root becomes, which makes the plant unique. Therefore, “ancient” apricot trees are always sought after by these seekers.

A national-scale Yellow Apricot Festival will be held for the first time, aiming to turn Thua Thien Hue into Vietnam’s land of yellow apricots.
