Many appealing activities for tourists
With its natural beauty bestowed by nature, on May 16, 2009, in Setubal - Portugal, Lang Co Bay was admitted to the World's Most Beautiful Bays Club. Celebrating 15 years of being recognized as a beautiful bay in the world, the People's Committee of Phu Loc district will organize various commemorative activities linked with promoting the image of Lang Co Bay along with the tourism development potential and strengths of Phu Loc district to attract a large number of domestic and international tourists, thereby attracting investment resources and promoting tourism development.
Mr. Nguyen Hai Dang, Vice Chairman of the People's Committee of Phu Loc district, Head of the Organizing Committee for the 15th anniversary of Lang Co - World's Beautiful Bay, stated that the commemorative program will be organized in conjunction with the inauguration of the pedestrian street Nguyen Van along Lap An Lagoon. This is an activity aimed at contributing to the creation of unique tourism products to serve the people, domestic and international tourists, while stimulating tourism demand, especially during the summer of 2024, laying the groundwork for the following years to make Lang Co an attractive destination on the North-South tourist route.
The commemorative program will include various activities such as art performances at night, cultural activities, traditional and modern sports. Notable activities include: culinary program, stand-up paddleboarding, fishing festival, traditional boat racing, coracle racing, paragliding, low-altitude fireworks, artistic kite flying; Exhibition fair showcasing the locality's key and OCOP products...
According to the organizing committee, nearly 20 activities related to the commemorative program will be evenly distributed over 3 days from May 10th to 12th, allocating time reasonably for tourists to fully experience. Mr. Pham Huu Chung, Head of the Department of Culture - Information of the district, stated that the system of about 68 accommodation establishments in the district with more than 1,430 rooms and 1,993 beds is also ready to accommodate guests. The district People's Committee has also instructed the District Health Center and relevant units to inspect and ensure food safety and hygiene when guests participate in the series of activities.
Enhancing promotion
Lang Co is part of the "Central Heritage Road" from Phong Nha - Ke Bang Cave to the Imperial City of Hue - Hoi An Ancient Town, and My Son Sanctuary. Lang Co also lies on the East-West economic corridor, gradually realizing the potential and advantages of the region. With what it currently possesses, a "Lang Co full of development potential" will soon become a reality due to its ability to connect urban chains from Hue - Chan May - Lang Co - Da Nang - Hoi An on the "Central Heritage Road". Moreover, Hue - Chan May - Lang Co is situated on the East-West economic corridor, which is gradually realizing the potential and advantages of the region.
In the past 15 years since being recognized as a beautiful bay in the world, investment activities and tourism services in Lang Co have flourished. Together with Chan May, Lang Co (Chan May - Lang Co Economic Zone) has become a favorite destination for domestic and international investors and tourists, with many large-scale projects already underway or completed.
One exemplary project is the Laguna Lang Co project, the first-class resort complex in Vietnam, invested by Banyan Tree Singapore with nearly 2 billion USD on an area of over 280 hectares. Along with that, resort systems, hotels, and restaurants are being invested in construction and upgrading. Every year, Lang Co attracts an average of over 1 million visitors for tourism and relaxation.
Based on its natural characteristics and existing advantages, according to the leaders of Phu Loc district, currently, the provincial authorities of Thua Thien Hue are focusing on investing heavily in the infrastructure of Lang Co to serve tourism development, protect the environment of coastal areas, and international cooperation programs to protect the environmental resources of Lang Co coastal area. Besides, they are promoting tourism, attracting visitors to Lang Co - the world's beautiful bay.
In addition to organizing the 15th anniversary commemorative activities of Lang Co - World's Beautiful Bay, Phu Loc district will continue to connect with travel agencies, tourism businesses to research, develop, and improve attractive tourism products, create experiences for tourists; Develop stimulating programs and professionally introduce Lang Co - the world's beautiful bay, striving for the following years to make Lang Co an attractive destination on the North-South tourist route.

Lang Co Bay is located in Lang Co town, Phu Loc district, more than 60km south of Hue city and about 25km north of Da Nang city.
The bay lies beneath the majestic Hai Van Mountain range, with an area of42.5km2, featuring over 10km of smooth white sandy beaches, and the Son Cha Island with diverse fauna and flora. The crystal-clear seawater is home to many rare and precious marine organisms. This is a biodiverse area, proposed to be listed on Vietnam's marine conservation list.
