Tourist numbers to Hue surge during Tet

TTH.VN - The Department of Tourism has reported that during the Giap Thin Lunar New Year (Year of the Dragon), the number of tourists visiting Hue for sightseeing and experiences has significantly increased compared to that of the same period in 2023, with many accommodation facilities fully booked during the festive days.

According to the data from the Department of Tourism, tourists to Thua Thien Hue province visiting historical sites and tourist attractions during the Giap Thin Lunar New Year from February 7th to February 15th of 2024 (equivalent to the 28th day of the 12th lunar month of the Year of the Cat to the 6th day of the 1st lunar month of the Year of the Dragon), in a span of 9 days, reached approximately 100,000 visitors (an increase of about 17.64% compared to 2023). Of these, the estimated total number of staying tourists was 55,000, with over 31,000 international and 24,000 domestic tourists. The occupancy rate was estimated at 62.4%, with accommodation revenue estimated at 115 billion VND. Specifically, the number of visitors to the sites managed by Hue Monuments Conservation Center during the first three days of the Lunar New Year was estimated to be between 65,000 and 68,000 visitors (including approximately 12,000 international visitors).

Most tourists highly appreciate the interactive programs and traditional cultural experiences welcoming visitors to Hue, including various forms of entertainment, services catering to the need for understanding and exploring traditional culture. The Spring welcoming activities of the land of Hue Ancient Capital have met the needs of both tourists and the local community.
