Awarding 220 Vallet scholarships to excellent students

TTH.VN - The ceremony to award Vallet scholarship 2023 to excellent students held by the “Meeting Vietnam” Organization has just taken place at Duyen Thi Duong, Hue Imperial Citadel.

There are 220 excellent students studying at high schools and universities in the provincial area receive Vallet scholarships this year, with a total value of over 4 billion VND. Each scholarship for a high school student worths 14 million VND, while the portion for a university student is 28 million VND.

At the ceremony, Standing Vice Chairman of the Provincial People’s Committee Nguyen Thanh Binh sent his thanks and gratitude to Professor Odon Vallet, Prof. Tran Thanh Van and Prof. Le Kim Ngoc who have always accompanied, supported, and motivated students in the provincial area to exert themselves in their studying processes for many years.

Mr. Binh also congratulated the students who were honored to receive the meaningful scholarships and expressed his desire that they would promote their achievements, keeping on striving, practicing, and contributing to the work of developing the homeland in general and the education sector in particular.

Giving scholarships to excellent students 

Vallet scholarship is formed from the voluntary contribution of Prof. Odon Vallet at the University of Paris Sorbonne (France). Prof. Odon Vallet entrusted to the “Meeting Vietnam” Organization, which is managed by Prof. Tran Thanh Van (Chairman of the Meeting Vietnam Organization – Rencontres du Vietnam) and his wife – Mrs. Le Kim Ngoc (Chairman of the Helping Vietnamese Children Organization – Aide à l’Enfance du Vietnam) to hold the ceremony to award scholarships to students with good studying results in Africa; and, especially in Vietnam including Vietnamese students in France.

As a scaled scholarship, which has been operating continuously in Vietnam, Vallet scholarship has officially spread nationwide since 2001, through the “Meeting Vietnam” Organization. Up to now, Odon Vallet scholarship has awarded over 50.000 scholarships with a total value of over 400 billion VND, the scholarship level has increased year by year in both scholarship quantity and value.

In Thua Thien Hue, Vallet scholarship has given nearly 5.000 portions, offering many scholarships to study in France, and giving sponsor to many libraries in the provincial area.
