Vice Chairman of the Provincial People’s Committee Nguyen Dung and Prof. Odon Vallet presenting scholarships to the students
Attending the ceremony were Vice Chairman of the Provincial People’s Committee Nguyen Dung; Prof. Tran Thanh Van, Chairman of the Science and Education Association Meet Vietnam, Prof. Odon Vallet, the person awarding the scholarships, and over 220 students.
Continuously from 2001 up to now, Vallet scholarship has been presented nationwide in order to help talented and excellent students in researching and studying, including Thua Thien Hue students. Up to now, Vallet has awarded over 36.000 scholarships worth over 250 billion VND, and at the same time spent many scholarships on awarding students in difficult circumstances, as well as those who are the ethnic minority, and children in SOS villages.
In the academic year 2018 – 2019, through the selection of high schools and universities in the provincial area, Vallet has awarded 225 scholarships to excellent students, including 151 students and 74 undergraduates with a total value over 2.9 billion VND; in which each student received a 10 million VND scholarship, and each undergraduate received a18 million VND scholarship. This sum of money was offered by Prof. Odon Vallet.

Speaking at the ceremony, on behalf of provincial leaders, Vice Chairman Nguyen Dung thanked Prof. Odon Vallet and his colleagues working in the Meet Vietnam Organization for always accompanying and devoting much favor to students in the province over the past years.
On this occasion, Chairman of the Provincial People’s Committee Phan Ngoc Tho decided to award certificate of merits to 4 individuals having many contributions to charitable and humanitarian activities in the provincial area in the period 2001 – 2018. The awardees were Prof. Tran Thanh Van (Vietnamese French); Prof. Le Kim Ngoc (Vietnamese French); Prof. Odon Vallet (French) and Mrs. Nguyen Tran Thi Tri (Vietnamese Swiss).
