Awarding the Certificate of European standard neonatal resuscitation training center to Hue University of Medicine and Pharmacy

TTH.VN - On June 14th, Hue University of Medicine and Pharmacy, Hue University, was awarded the Certification of European standard neonatal resuscitation training center by representatives of the European Resuscitation Council and Newborns Vietnam organization.

 Representatives from the European Resuscitation Council and Newborns Vietnam awarded the certification to Hue University of Medicine and Pharmacy, Hue University

Since 2023, Hue University of Medicine and Pharmacy has successfully collaborated with Newborns Vietnam to organize 4 training courses on neonatal resuscitation in delivery rooms that are tailored for doctors, nurses, and midwives specializing in Pediatrics, Obstetrics, Emergency Medicine, etc. The training focuses on providing healthcare professionals with knowledge and practical skills in neonatal resuscitation according to the European Resuscitation Council standards, aiming to provide optimal support for newborns in urgent situations, especially during the critical phases immediately after birth.

The instructors for the course are professors and experts from universities and hospitals across Europe. They are officially recognized as instructors by the European Resuscitation Council.

After 4 courses, 66 students have met the standards, among whom four have received certificates to become official instructors of the program. Additionally, seven candidates with outstanding performance will be being trained to become official instructors.

Building on the success of these courses, the European Resuscitation Council and Newborns Vietnam have awarded the Certification of European standard neonatal resuscitation training center to Hue University of Medicine and Pharmacy, Hue University.

Professor Nguyen Vu Quoc Huy, Principal of Hue University of Medicine and Pharmacy, Hue University, emphasized that the implementation and expansion of neonatal resuscitation courses in delivery rooms for healthcare workers in the Central and Central Highlands regions, where geographical conditions are complex and access to healthcare services is limited, especially in ethnic minority areas with challenging economic conditions, will be extremely beneficial. This effort aims to enhance the capabilities of healthcare personnel, improve survival rates among newborns, contribute to reducing the infant mortality rate in the Central and Central Highlands regions, and overall decrease Vietnam's infant mortality rate. There is a strong determination to successfully execute the National Action Plan for Infant Survival.

On June 14th, units also coordinated to launch a new training course under the program. According to the plan for the 2024 - 2025 period, the European Resuscitation Council and Hue University of Medicine and Pharmacy, Hue University, will collaborate to organize 10 training courses with the goal is to train a total of 216 healthcare personnel.

The awarding ceremony was held on the night of December 2, in Ho Chi Minh City with the participation of guests and locals involving in creating the artwork. The Map of Vietnam made by BOARC art style set the record with the largest number of participants from the Northern, Central, and Southern regions.
