At the meeting, Mr. Koyama Noriaki expressed his pleasure in visiting and working in Thua Thien Hue.

According to Mr. Koyama, since its founding over 60 years ago, UNIQLO has expanded to nearly 30 countries, with more than 2,400 stores globally. The brand specializes in ready-to-wear fashion, footwear, and fully finished fashion accessories.

In October 2024, UNIQLO submitted an application to establish a retail store at Aeon Mall Hue. The proposed store, covering a retail space of 1,532.5 square meters, will primarily offer textiles, ready-to-wear clothing, footwear, and other fashion accessories under the UNIQLO brand and other labels.

Mr. Koyama expressed his desire for provincial leaders to support and facilitate the company’s expansion, helping to establish UNIQLO and its associated brands, contributing to meeting the shopping needs of the people.

On behalf of the provincial leaders, Vice Chairman Phan Quy Phuong encouraged Fast Retailing to collaborate in developing the textile and garment industry into a core export-oriented sector that significantly contributes to the province’s GRDP.

Vice Chairman Phan Quy Phuong also hoped that the group would focus on advancing the production of textile and garment products to support the input material needs of textile enterprises in the province and Central region. He suggested moving from the current CMT (Cut-Make-Trim) production model to an ODM (Original Design Manufacturing) model, emphasizing product research and design, building brand value, and enhancing product competitiveness. He also called UNIQLO for the formation and growth of a fashion industry in the region.
