Vice Permanent Chairman Nguyen Thanh Binh praised Ms. Aler Grubbs, Director of USAID, and the delegation for carrying out the visit and working trip to Vietnam. At the same time, he also gave thanks to the cooperative programs and projects, as well as the support done by USAID in Thua Thien Hue over time. The province always supports and creates the most favorable conditions for USAID to hold the programs in the locality, serving the demand of socio-economic development, ensuring social security.
Vice Permanent Chairman Nguyen Thanh Binh desired that USAID would spread cooperative programs on various fields such as culture, health, education, and environment; especially in supporting people with disabilities, vulnerable people, as well as supporting people exposed to Agent Orange/dioxide. Furthermore, he hoped that the organization would carry out the activities related to biodiversity preservation, response to climate change; supporting in raising capacity for businesses to access economic development and integration, improving investment and trading environment.
Vice Permanent Chairman Nguyen Thanh Binh committed that the province will create favorable conditions and coordinate closely with USAID to organize cooperative programs, contributing to the good relationship between the two countries Vietnam and the US, at the same time, closely coordinating with USAID to implement the projects and activities to respond to climate change, environmental protection to reduce the use of plastics and enhance plastic waste recycling, reducing greenhouse gas emissions; cooperating to carry out the models of waste recycling.

Ms. Aler Grubbs, Director of USAID in Vietnam expressed her gratitude for the respectful welcome of the provincial leaders. She informed that one of the missions of USAID in Vietnam was implementing the policies and support of the US government in various fields. Over time, USAID has supported Thua Thien Hue province to carry out many projects related to medical care, supporting people with disabilities, minimizing environmental impacts and responding to climate change, as well as doing biodiversity conservation, etc.
The Director of USAID in Vietnam hoped to continue to cooperate and implement more direct activities to raise capacity for people with disabilities, creating opportunities for people with disabilities living in the provincial area expressing their voice, giving them the opportunities to participate in community activities. Furthermore, it will keep on implementing projects on minimizing environmental impacts and responding to climate change, biodiversity conservation; as well as carrying out the project of Clean City, Blue Ocean.
