Hue City promotes cultural people-to-people diplomacy with regions of Japan

TTH.VN - On the morning of March 21st, Standing Vice Chairman of the Provincial People's Committee Nguyen Thanh Binh had courtesy meeting with a delegation from the Foreign Affairs Department of Nara prefecture – Japan, headed by Mr. Hitomi Tatsuya, Director of the Foreign Affairs Department of Nara prefecture.

At the meeting, Vice Chairman Nguyen Thanh Binh expressed his pleasure in receiving the delegation from the Foreign Affairs Department of Nara prefecture on the occasion of their visit and work in Thua Thien Hue.

Vice Chairman Nguyen Thanh Binh stated: “In recent years, Thua Thien Hue has fostered good and effective cooperative relationships with various regions in Japan, regularly organizing exchange activities and cooperation with Japanese regions, achieving many positive results in various fields such as tourism development, cultural exchange, people-to-people diplomacy, ..."

Regarding the organization of the 14th East Asia Local and Regional Government Congress in Thua Thien Hue in 2025, Mr. Nguyen Thanh Binh expressed his hope that Nara prefecture would continue to cooperate and support in finalizing the organization plan for submission after receiving the unified approval of the Prime Minister of Vietnam. He also requested the Secretariat of the Conference and the Nara Prefecture Government to closely collaborate to exchange experiences in organizing activities, provide suggestions regarding the program frameworks, contents, and coordinate in implementing the conference.

Mr. Nguyen Thanh Binh extended an invitation to Nara prefecture to send an art delegation to participate in the Hue Festival Week in June 2024.

Mr. Hitomi Tatsuya, Director of the Foreign Affairs Department of Nara prefecture, expressed gratitude for the warm reception from the provincial leaders and departments during their working visit to Thua Thien Hue, congratulating the province on its achievements.
