Chairman of the Provincial People's Committee Nguyen Van Phuong spoke at the meeting

The meeting between the Provincial People's Committee and KOICA on August 23rd clarified many issues. Deputy Secretary of the Provincial Party Committee, Chairman of the Provincial People's Committee Nguyen Van Phuong and Deputy Chairman of the Provincial People's Committee Hoang Hai Minh attended the meeting.

During the meeting, the project's report highlighted the necessity of establishing an smart cultural tourism database to validate the standard model and ensure its usability. The development of the smart cultural tourism information database will serve as a basis for smart tourism start-ups in Hue City...

The report also explicitly outlined the extensive scope of the project, as it will establish a database at over 1,000 points of interest, accommodations, restaurants, festivals, etc., with high tourism value in the central area of Hue City. It also aims to create an intelligent cultural tourism information database.

A representative from the project consulting agency stated that among the objectives, the most important aspect of the project is to contribute to the local economic recovery by enhancing the competitive edge of smart tourism in Hue City. It aims to ensure a systematic management system to strengthen consistency and utilization of cultural and tourism information among local organizations, functioning as a source of cultural and tourism information in Hue City.

The establishment of information infrastructure for the city's brand strategy, utilizing cultural and tourism information of Hue City, also plays a crucial role. This direction aims to enhance the city's brand capacity by increasing its appeal to foreign tourists. Simultaneously, it aims to improve the accessibility of tourism information for users both within and outside the country, leveraging the smart city infrastructure.

Delving into analysis of the methods, the consulting agency presented typical examples of providing smart cultural tourism services along the Huong River - Da Vien Islet pedestrian route. Here, a 24-hour automated (unmanned) tourism guidance system is installed at major tourist spots and transportation hubs, providing guidance on restaurants, tourist attractions, transportation options, and travel maps. These stations will support multiple languages, offer interactive communication through automated forwarding, and provide mobile connectivity services if necessary.

Additionally, there is a plan to use a cultural tourism target list to provide guiding functions and central tourism information about Hue City. Interlinking with digital museums and the smart tourist information stations within the complex cultural space, this plan will also provide images and video content of events and exhibitions at various tourist locations based on current location and nearby attractions. The smart tourist stations can further provide visitors with information about accommodations, dining, shopping, travel companies, and more, thereby contributing to the local economic development. The consulting agency's representatives also outlined architectural plans for the Da Vien Islet area and a pedestrian bridge connecting Bui Thi Xuan Park with Da Vien Islet.

In discussing this project, the leaders of departments, committees, sectors, and the People's Committee of Hue City focused on expressing their viewpoints on matters related to several components regarding the implementation of cultural structures, facilities, and spaces in the Da Vien Islet area within the overall project context. From there, they formulated an architectural plan that is most harmonious and optimized. Opinions also emphasized that materials and architectural approaches should aim for softness and open spaces.

Concluding the meeting, Chairman Nguyen Van Phuong generally concurred with the proposals and architectural design plans of the project. Chairman Nguyen Van Phuong stated that this project is crucial in helping the province achieve the goal of developing Hue into a smart cultural and tourism city as part of the process of turning Thua Thien Hue into a centrally-governed municipality.

"Alongside the ideas presented, the consulting team needs to gather additional input from departments, committees, sectors, and Hue City today to refine the implementation concepts effectively in practice. Furthermore, it is essential to expedite the progress, complete the documentation, and proceed with the necessary approval procedures for the project," emphasized Chairman Nguyen Van Phuong.
