The first school to have 3 training programs accredited with good qualification
In April 2019, Hue University of Medicine and Pharmacy was the first medical institution in Hue University and in the country to participate in the accreditation of 3 training programs in pharmacy, bachelor of public health and bachelor of nursing.
As a result of the accreditation, the school has been granted a Certificate by the Education Quality Accreditation Center - Hanoi National University in accordance with Decision No. 392 / QD-KDCL on October 12, 2019 issued by the Minister of Education and Training for 3 training programs in pharmacy, bachelor of public health and bachelor of nursing.
Also, in this school year, the school continued to completely reform the curriculum of the training programs for medical doctors and dentists in cooperation with Harvard Medical School, Harvard University (USA) with qualified graduate standards in terms of knowledge, attitudes and clinical practice skill for learners according to regional and international standards.

Modern theoretical and practical teaching methods in medical education, including those called 4.0 (application of information technology, mobile technology; simulation technology; e-learning, integrated learning management system); organizing teaching-learning activities based on the principle of flipped classroom, blended learning-teaching, and teaching methods to help create competencies like problem-based learning (PBL), work-based learning (TBL), clinical case study (CBL), etc., are teaching-learning methods that are very different from traditional teaching methods for a long time.
The program is implemented by the university in two of the most important majors at the university level: general practitioner and dentistry. That will be the basis for scaling up to the remaining 7 majors of Hue University of Medicine and Pharmacy in undergraduate training as well as applying the methods and approaches of Harvard Medical School, Harvard University to the postgraduate training programs. It can be said that this is a revolution in training at Hue University of Medicine and Pharmacy, Hue University in particular and at various medical schools in general.

Training young volunteer doctors
In this academic year, Hue University of Medicine and Pharmacy, Hue University has been allowed to train 3 more new postgraduate majors: Anesthesiology -Resuscitation, Nursing Practitioner and Doctor of Biomedical Sciences at doctoral level. At the same time, the university continued to train young doctors for specialist I under 585 Project - a project of young doctors volunteering to work in remote and difficult areas. This was a part of the Ministry of Health policy towards 62 poor districts throughout the country.
Currently, the school has trained 32 specialists I, 11th course, in various specialties including: Internal medicine, Surgery, Obstetrics, Pediatrics, Emergency, Anesthesiology - Resuscitation, Radiology and Traditional medicine, and has handed over 27 specialists I, 6th course, to the poor districts. This is the first training course for the Central region and the Central Highlands among a total of 354 doctors being trained at 3 institutions including Hanoi Medical University, Hue University of Medicine and Pharmacy, Hue University and Hai Phong University of Medicine and Pharmacy.
Awarding the certifications of specialist-I degree for 27 doctors of the 6th course of the project 585 - young volunteer doctor project in disadvantaged areas, 62 poor districts.
Success in scientific research and international cooperation
As a multidisciplinary university in the field of health sciences training and directly providing health care services, Hue University of Medicine and Pharmacy always considers the development of science and technology every year as an important task in order to meet the criteria of scientific development and accomplishing the school's mission.
The number and quality of projects in the past year increased a lot compared to the previous year. Especially in this school year, Hue University of Medicine and Pharmacy has chaired 3 major research contents and 6 topics/tasks at ministry level for the first time; and a topic of cooperation under the Protocol was approved for the second time.
In addition, the school has achieved high achievements in scientific conferences for students and young lecturers such as the award "Student Scientific Research Conference 2018", and the award "Scientific research for young lecturers in universities”.

Also, in 2019, Hue University of Medicine and Pharmacy - Hue University continued to develop and expand international training activities such as signing cooperation agreements on training, technical consultancy, supporting the development of training program framework for physicians at the grassroots level in the field of family medicine and primary care in Laos.
In the framework of a cooperation between Hue University of Medicine and Pharmacy and the National Leadership Academies organization of the US, Hue University of Medicine and Pharmacy successfully organized the Future Docs Abroad 2019 program to bring foreign students to a two-week experience at the University and University’s Hospital, participating in internships in laboratories, joining in medical lectures and doing clinical rotation at the hospital.
Hue University of Medicine and Pharmacy, Hue University has a strong team of postgraduate lecturers including: 6 Professors, 53 Associate Professors, 61 PhDs, 198 Masters, 7 specialists II, 3 specialists I; including 2 People's teachers, 17 merited teachers, 1 People's physician, 32 merited physicians, 59 high-ranked senior lecturers, 30 senior lecturers.
In 2019, the University is honored to have 3 more professors being considered by the State Council of Professors to meet the standards; 14 doctors with Ph.D. degree who have just completed the domestic and overseas study program and come back to school to work.
