Promoting the development of social work job in Asia-Pacific region

TTH.VN - It is the purpose of the international scientific symposium "Social Work Job in Developing Countries" organized by the Faculty of Science, Hue University, in collaboration with the Asian & Pacific Islander Social Work Educators Association (APISWEA) and the California State University at Dominguez Hills and Los Angeles, USA. The meeting was opened on the morning of June, 20, 2018.

Many international experts attend the workshop

The workshop lasted for two days from 20 to 21 June, attracting the participation of more than 30 professors and specialists in social work sector in countries such as USA, Australia, Korea, Japan, China and a number of others, as well as the specialists, researchers from institutes, schools and development organizations in Vietnam.

The delegates presented various subjects for discussion, such as: Social Work Training in Vietnam; Developing social work standards in Cambodia; Services for people with disabilities in rural Vietnam; Improving the children protection system, development of social work standards and the needs to build national professional associations in India, etc.

Through the sharing of research results of the countries and exchanges of experiences and knowledge, the management board of the workshop wanted to promote the development of social work job in the Asia-Pacific region.
