With the orientation of developing a green, clean, effective, safe, human and environmentally friendly, as well as reducing emissions, and pollution-free transportation system, Hue City has been developing a public passenger transport system, and developing the bicycle traffic as a green and safe form of transport, which is appropriate with preserving heritage and protecting the city’s tourist landscape. At the same time, heading towards building up the image of Hue as a green, friendly, and safe urban.

The workshop is a continuation of the first consultation meeting for the master plan, which was held in June 2023. On the basis of comments, the group of experts has carried out research, supplemented, and completed the draft master plan to develop city bicycle traffic.

The workshop focused on discussing, exchanging, and agreeing on the main contents of the draft master plan, such as the visions, goals, as well as solutions to build up a bicycle lane network, improve safety for riders, develop a public bicycle system, implementation roadmaps and resources.

It is expected that the plan will be submitted and approved in November 2023, thereby creating a basis for the implementation of the plan in 2024 to develop green transportation for the city and reach sustainable development for Hue – an ASEAN Clean Tourism City, a Festival City of Vietnam.
