The Noon Gate of Hue Imperial City to be cleaned of mosses
TTH.VN - When the cleaning project is finished (after 15 days from March 15), The Noon Gate of Hue Imperial City will be cleaned. The information related to the project was provided by the Hue Monuments Conservation Center and Karcher (Germany), the world's leading brand of cleaning technology, at the press conference on the morning of March 15.
Representatives of the press conference hosts
Karcher has been present in 70 countries around the world and has been in Vietnam since 2013. The Noon Gate is their first project in Vietnam. To clean up the Noon Gate, Karcher uses high-pressure cleaners to remove perennial biological soiling on walls.
In this method, hot steam technology is utilized, via a special nozzle that produces steam pressure on the limestone surface. The heating system can generate the steam with a maximum temperature of approximately 100° Celsius, completely removing all kinds of pollutants/biological soiling, etc.
At the press conference, some reporters expressed their concerns about whether the Noon Gate would become "too new" after being cleaned. However, Mr. Phan Thanh Hai, Director of the Provincial Department of Culture and Sports affirmed that the cleaning virtually did not affect the Noon Gate’s colors and materials, only removing all mosses and harmful microorganisms existing on the surface.
After the Noon Gate, the Center will continue to work with Karcher to clean up many other relics of Hue Monuments Complex to ensure their sustainability.
