Developing sustainable, safe and high-tech agriculture in Hue

TTH.VN - On February 10, Chairman of the Provincial People’s Committee Phan Ngoc Tho and leaders of the related departments had a working session with the delegation of Vietnam National University of Agriculture to implement the solutions for the development of sustainable agricultural economics in the provincial area.

Prof. Dr. Nguyen Thi Lan, Director of the Vietnam National University of Agriculture said that in the work of carrying out the cooperation program on training, scientific research, and technology transfer between the Vietnam National University of Agriculture and the Provincial People’s Committee, the two sides have implemented many activities and achieved certain initial results.

Notably, the two sides has built the project “Assessing the potentials and Proposing the integrated solutions to develop the provincial agricultural economy associated with culture and tourism”; the project “Promoting provincial agricultural economy towards the green and sustainable development”; building up the mission of agricultural planning in the period of 2021 – 2030, with a vision to 2050. At the same time, they reckoned that Thua Thien Hue converges many conditions that are suitable for the development of sustainable, safe and high-tech agriculture.

Chairman Phan Ngoc Tho highly appreciated the cooperation and support of the Vietnam National University of Agriculture to the province. He expected that the university will continue to be the unit to cooperate and consult the province about the issues related to agricultural development, restructuring the agricultural economy towards higher value-added and sustainable development: in which, keeping on effectively implementing the bilateral cooperation program; focusing on completing the planning for developing agriculture and forest production in association with tourism; evaluating the varieties of specific plant genes of Hue with the potential for economic development, etc.
