Hue Nam Temple Festival to be held on April 2-3

TTH.VN - Within the framework of Hue Festival 2022, Hue Nam Temple Festival will be held on April 2-3 (on March 2-3 of the Lunar Year of the Tiger) at 352 Chi Lang Holy Place and Hue Nam Temple (Huong Tho Commune, Hue City).

On April 2, the procession will move from 352 Chi Lang Holy Place to Nghinh Luong Dinh. After the peace prayer ceremony, the procession will continue by boat, going upstream the Huong River to Hue Nam Temple. The main ceremony, praying for national peace and prosperity, and the thanksgiving and closing ceremony will be held on April 3.

Hue Nam Temple (or Hon Chen Temple) Festival is a traditional activity with cultural and spiritual elements of worshiping Mother Goddess Thien Y A Na held in March and July of the Lunar year every year. The event attracts a large number of followers of the Mother Goddess religion with tens of thousands of people attending. This is also considered a typical folk and communal festival of the ancient capital.

Hue Festival Center will coordinate with Hue Nam Temple Sponsoring Board to organize the procession of the Mother Goddess by road. This is the first time, Hue Nam Temple Festival has put into operation the procession of the Mother Goddess of the Four Palaces on the road, recreating and building a unique and large-scale folk carnival at Hue Festival 2022.

A large crowd attending Hue Nam Temple Festival (or Hon Chen Temple) took part in a solemn land procession from Thien Tien Holy Shrine (352 Chi Lang, Hue City) to Nghinh Luong Dinh (Nghinh Luong Pavilion) before embarking on boats to move to the temple.
