Hue Nam Temple Festival, which is the so-called Hon Chen Temple Festival taking place from the beginning of the annual March and July of the lunar calenda, is considered a traditional activity with spiritual cultural elements, combining with imperial rituals and folk beliefs of a part of Hue locals in particular and that of the country in general. Hue Nam Temple Festival was upgraded to a national festival, and up to now, it has attracted a great number of tourists, especially those from Central Vietnam.

Most of the main rituals in the framework of the festival are held at the Temple on Mount Ngoc Tran by the Perfume River, where Thien Y A Na Mother Goddness is worshipped. There are also rituals such as fish release and lantern floating, and the performance of the traditional Hue “chau van” tunes, etc. These activities attract hundreds of boats heading upstream along the Perfume River, bringing large numbers of visitors from various provinces across the country to the festival.
