Awarding B prize to two excellent works |
Attending the exhibition were the representatives of the Fine Arts Associations from 6 provinces in the North Central Region, together with a great number of artists and the public in love with arts.
The North Central Region Fine Arts Exhibition was held to arouse and promote the creative potential of artists, members, and collaborators specialized in fine arts; create favorable conditions for the wider development of art activities; at the same time, reflecting good cultural traditional values, socio-economic achievements of the nation through the artworks; thence, creating spiritual cultural values imbued with national cultural identity.
The exhibition displayed 157 works by 137 artists coming from Thanh Hoa, Nghe An, Ha Tinh, Quang Binh, Quang Tri, and Thua Thien Hue. Through this exhibition, the works partly expressed the overall picture of the energetic and enthusiastic creation of the artists and sculptors.
Addressing the exhibition, Mr. Nguyen Thanh Binh, Permanent Vice Chairman of Thua Thien Hue Provincial People’s Committee acknowledged and highly assessed the effort of the organizing board, as well as the contributions of the artists and sculptors. At the same time, he also gave thanks to the Vietnam Fine Arts Association, the Literature and Arts Association of the North Central provinces, and the artists, sculptors who together with Thua Thien Hue province, Thua Thien Hue Union of Literature and Arts Associations created an exhibition fully bearing the imprint of a cultural land, contributing to helping Thua Thien Hue province push up the promotion about Hue Ancient Capital, a city of heritage, a city of festival, an ASEAN cultural city to the audience at home and abroad.
Especially, this event was much more meaningful when leaders and all people of Thua Thien Hue province are determining to successfully carry out the Politburo’s Resolution No.54 to build up the province into a city directly under the Central Government (a centrally-governed municipality), on the basis of preserving and promoting the heritage values of Hue Ancient Capital and Hue Cultural identity.
At the opening ceremony, Vietnam Fine Arts Association awarded prizes to 9 excellent works, with 6 consolation prizes, 1 C prize, and 2 B prizes.
The two works wining the B prizes at the exhibition were “Vi vu” (an acrylic painting) of artist Hoang Thanh Phong (Thua Thien Hue province), and “Nhip song moi” (the new lifestyle) (paper carving painting) of artist Nguyen Dinh Truyen (Nghe An province).
