Awarding “Support to School” scholarships to 72 disadvantaged new students

TTH.VN - On the afternoon of October 20th, Tuoi Tre Newspaper, in coordination with Thua Thien Hue Provincial Youth Union, held a ceremony to award “Support to School” scholarships to 72 new students currently facing challenging life circumstances in the province.

The total budget for this program exceeded VND1 billion, sponsored by Thua Thien Hue “Support to School” Club. Each scholarship has a cash value of VND15 million, with two special scholarships worth VND50 million for a four-year academic period.

Nestlé Vietnam Co. Ltd., also provided gifts for new students, and Vinacam Study Promotion Fund - a subsidiary of Vinacam Corporation, presented 2 laptops to especially difficult new students who lacked study equipment.

In addition to the new students from Thua Thien Hue, on this occasion, the program awarded 14 scholarships (including 1 special scholarship worth VND 50 million) to news students from Quang Ngai who are studying in Da Nang and Hue.

This marks the fifth event in the “Support to School” scholarship program for the year 2023 for new students under the 571st edition of the “For Tomorrow's Development" program, established by Tuoi Tre Newspaper. This year, the scholarship program has been extended to more than 1,200 new students in difficult circumstances across the country, with a total budget of more than 19 billion VND.

Also in 2023, the “Support to School” program of Tuoi Tre Newspaper for new students will also be organized in various regions: Central region, Central Highlands, Southeast region, Mekong Delta, as well as provinces and cities in the Northern and North Central regions.
