The delegation of Hanoi City Party Committee was led by the Party Central Committee member, Deputy Secretary of the Hanoi City Party Committee, Chairman of Hanoi City People's Committee Nguyen Duc Chung.

Many results achieved

At the meeting, the two localities evaluated the cooperation results in different fields in the past. Accordingly, the Provincial Party Committee of Thua Thien Hue and Hanoi City Party Committee had had a number of activities to share experiences in building the Party and building the political system. Every year, the tourism industries of the two localities have coordinated activities to attract tourists.

Through trade promotion programs, enterprises have developed distribution systems and agents in Hanoi and Thua Thien Hue. Trade fairs were organized where business delegations could participate in and develop product consumption connections in the two localities. Supply and demand connection and regional specialty fairs in Hanoi City were organized.

The two localities have also cooperated to train students majoring in art and culture. Hue Central Hospital cooperated to exchange medical expertise, training and scientific research with medical agencies in Hanoi.

However, the implementation of the cooperation between the two localities has not been comprehensive and has not exploited the potentials and strengths of both sides.

Promoting cooperation for mutual development

In order for the cooperation between the two localities to achieve higher results in the coming time, members of the Delegation of Hanoi City Party Committee said that it is necessary to continue exchanging and sharing experiences in building the Party and political system. At the same time, it is essential to exchange and share experiences in the planning of provinces and cities; introduce big enterprises, strategic investors to participate in research, survey, and seek investment opportunities in Thua Thien Hue province with its advantages such as tourism, commercial services, logistics and production projects in industrial parks and economic zones.

A speech at the meeting

"We hope that Hanoi continues helping Thua Thien Hue by bringing tourists and big businesses to come to visit. Hanoi has coordinated this very effectively. The promotion of tourism also requires Hanoi to pay attention to bring Hue's tourism products to domestic and foreign tourists,” said Le Huu Minh, Acting Director of Thua Thien Hue Tourism Department.

“Hanoi wishes to learn from Thua Thien Hue's experience and ways of investing and repairing relics. Hanoi is ready to support the promotion of tourism information and destinations of Thua Thien Hue in the media. The two localities need to create conditions and support each other to participate in a common stall at foreign investment promotion fairs. There needs to be a mechanism to support travel agencies to study and build tours, routes and tourism products connecting the two localities," said To Van Dong, Director of the Department of Culture and Sports of Hanoi City.

Hanoi will strengthen the connection of supply and demand with Thua Thien Hue enterprises in the development of supply chains of agricultural products, specialties and handicrafts; strengthen cultural and artistic exchange and performance activities; support and create conditions for organizing Hue royal festivals in Hoan Kiem Lake walking streets on weekends to promote images of Hue to attract local and international tourists.

Hanoi City People's Committee Chairman Nguyen Duc Chung said that the two localities have similarities in culture, so this issue needs to be further promoted in the future. With the cooperation between the two localities, he trusted the investment promotion will be prosperous and that many large enterprises and strategic investors will be coming to Thua Thien Hue. Many tours and forums will also be promoted in the near future.

Thua Thien Hue Provincial Party Committee Secretary Le Truong Luu once again affirmed that the issues of exchange and sharing at the meeting between the two localities will soon be implemented. “The coordination and cooperation between different sectors will raise new heights and bring higher efficiency,” said Mr. Le Truong Luu.

The delegation of Hanoi City Party Committee also supported the fund for poverty reduction and social security of Thua Thien Hue province with 3 billion VND. They also visited some policy families and Vietnamese Hero Mothers in Hue City.
