The woman named Phan Thi N. lived in Hue city, quarantined shortly after returning from Laos on the night of March 27 and was still in her quarantine time. However, due to the impact of the COVID-19 disease, she and her family returned to Hue for safety.
During the time in the quarantine area, Ms. N. was monitored; and her health was checked regularly. She was without any symptoms of cough, fever, shortness of breath, or abdominal pain. Until about 3 am April 5th, the medical team in the quarantine area received news that the pregnant woman had abdominal pain, as there were signs of labor. Doctors and midwives got there in time to help her deliver her baby at her quarantine room. Ms. N gave birth to a girl weighing 2.9 kg healthily and safely in the bursting joy of many people.
Shortly thereafter, Ms. N. and her child were taken by ambulance to the medical quarantine area of Hue City Hospital to continue having monitoring, and medical examination.
