Raising Phu Bai airport’s capacity to 4 million of passengers/year
TTH.VN - The Airports Corporation of Vietnam (ACV) had a working session with the People's Committee of Thua Thien Hue province on investing to increase the capacity of Phu Bai International Airport until 2025.

Accordingly, in this phase, ACV will invest in the project of Passenger Terminal T2 and the project of constructing luggage conveyor belt and airfield of Phu Bai International Airport.
The Passenger Terminal T2 project is designed to serve both domestic and international passengers, with a two-storey terminal of separate arrival and departure areas. It has the capacity of 4 million passengers/year and will be able to raise the capacity to 6 million of passengers/year.
The terminal is capable of meeting 6 peak flight times with the peak passenger number of 2,000. The Phu Bai International Airport's luggage conveyor belt and airfield project will construct the parallel luggage conveyor belt and associated equipment systems so as to increase the operating capacity by 20 times of peak flights. The project will also build two parking positions for code E aircrafts and 6 parking positions for code C aircrafts.
"According to the Government’s policies, Phu Bai Airport will be expanded, and this phase will be larger than the ACV’s previous expectation. With such dynamics, Thua Thien Hue will have favorable conditions for tourism development on transport in the near future. The province is also trying to work with other airlines to create the best conditions for visitors, helping the province develop its tourism,” said Mr. Nguyen Van Cao, Chairman of Thua Thien Hue People's Committee.
