Vibrant traditional boat race on the Perfume River

Being exciting in the first moment

This year, the traditional boat race, which wasorganized to celebrate the Independence Day, was chosen as the first competition of the 8th Provincial Sports Festival in 2018 with 9 boats: Huong So, Phu Hau, Vy Da (Hue city), Huong Toan, Huong Vinh (Huong Tra commune),Phu Duong (Phu Vang district), Phong Hoa (Phong Dien district), Quang Thanh (Quang Dien district), Thuy Van (Huong Thuy commune). According to the race regulations, in addition to annual awards, this year’s race also awarded 2 team medals (male, female) and the trophy for the team with good performance in the race. The competition for medals made the race become more interesting and dramatic.

Finishing first but still making every effort

On the early morning of September 2^nd , thousands of people were present on the banks of the Perfume River, especially on the river side in front of Hai Ba Trung high school to wait for the opening ceremony of the traditional boat race. The race attracted not only local peoplebut also many visitors from other provinces, cities and international tourists.

With regard to the results of male teams: the first prize was awarded to Huong Vinh (Huong Tra), while Thuy Van (Huong Thuy) and Huong So (Hue city) respectively won the second and third prizes. About female team prizes: the first prize was awarded to Huong Vinh (Huong Tra); Phong Hoa (Phong Dien) and Huong So (Hue city) respectively won the second and third prizes.

With regard to the whole team prize: The first prize was awarded to Huong Vinh (Huong Tra); Thuy Van ( Huong Thuy) and Huong Toan (Huong Tra) respectively won the second and third prizes.
