For Hue people, Vesak is not simply a cultural and spiritual celebration. It is also a Buddhist holiday that is awaited by a large number of people, monks, nuns, and Buddhists.

Buddhism is a religion revered by a large number of people in Hue. Therefore, every year on the occasion of Vesak, most pagodas and families prepare flower, lights to welcome this great celebration.

From pagodas to the streets, beautiful flower and flag decorations can be seen everywhere. The Executive Board of the Buddhist Sangha of Thua Thien Hue province also organized the placing of 7 giant lotus flowers on the Huong River to welcome the 2566th Vesak.

The 7 lotus flowers represent the 7 pure steps of the Buddha. All 7 giant lotus flowers are displayed and lit every night on the Huong River until the end of the great Vesak celebration.
