Thua Thien Hue is a region with many dishes honored in the “Journey to find the cultural value of typical Vietnamese cuisine” including Hue beef noodles, tapioca dumplings stuffed with roasted pork sweet soup, mussel rice, tapioca dumplings, mixed vegetarian fig salad, vegetarian rice steamed in lotus leaf.

On the evening of November 7th, the Vietnamese Cuisine Culture Association held a ceremony to announce and present certificates for the outstanding culinary dishes of Thua Thien Hue province in phase I – 2022, and launched the nomination voting for the second phase in 2023 of the “Journey to discover the typical cultural value of Vietnam’s cuisine”, and awarding membership certificates to the Culinary Culture Association of Thua Thien Hue.

These are 6 of 121 Vietnamese culinary dishes that have just been honored by the Vietnam Cuisine Culture Association (VCCA) as typical national dishes in phase I of a project titled "Building and Developing Vietnamese Culinary Culture into a National Brand Name”. All of these 6 dishes, including: Hue beef noodle soup, glutinous rice dumplings stuffed with roasted pork in sweet soup, mussel rice, banh loc (glutinous rice dumplings), vegetarian fig salad, and lotus-leaf-wrapped steamed rice; all are close to the gardens and paddy fields of the land.

The writing contest "Hue - the Capital of Gastronomy" with 2 phases aims to promote and preserve the beauty of Vietnamese culinary culture in general and Hue cuisine in particular.

On August 19, the production team of the Korean Broadcasting System KBS carried out the practical survey in Thua Thien Hue, through the selection of space, location, filming ideas, and research to learn about Vietnamese culture and cuisine.

Prior to his trip to Hue, what only dish that Mr. Tan Zing Yan (a well-known businessman in Singapore) and his friends knew about Vietnamese cuisine was pho. As they arrived in Hue and enjoyed a variety of delicious cuisines of Hue, they have given a lot of compliments.

On the evening of April 29, the gathering of Vietnamese culinary artisans at Hue Festival 2022 was formally held by the Vietnam Cuisine Culture Association at Duyet Thi Duong Theater in the Imperial Citadel. The program aimed to celebrate the success of the convention of Thua Thien Hue Provincial Cuisine Culture Association.
