Six typical culinary dishes of Hue honored

TTH.VN - On the evening of November 7th, the Vietnamese Cuisine Culture Association held a ceremony to announce and present certificates for the outstanding culinary dishes of Thua Thien Hue province in phase I – 2022, and launched the nomination voting for the second phase in 2023 of the “Journey to discover the typical cultural value of Vietnam’s cuisine”, and awarding membership certificates to the Culinary Culture Association of Thua Thien Hue.

According to representatives of the Vietnamese Cuisine Culture Association, with the mission of searching for, reviving, preserving, promoting, and developing Vietnam's culinary culture to new heights, the association has initiated the project “Building and developing Vietnam's culinary culture into a national brand."

Bearing the title of the “Culinary Capital,” Thua Thien Hue is the region with the most honored dishes in the “Journey to discover the typical cultural value of Vietnam’s cuisine”. These dishes include: Bún bò Huế (Hue beef noodle soup), Chè bột lọc bọc heo quay (tapioca dumplings stuffed with roasted pork sweet soup), cơm hến (mussel rice), bánh lọc (tapioca dumplings), vả trộn hoa màu chay (vegetarian fig salad), and cơm hấp lá sen chay (vegetarian steamed rice in lotus leaf).

Speaking at the event, Permanent Deputy Secretary of the Provincial Party Committee Phan Ngoc Tho affirmed that it was a great honor for the Ancient Capital region for six typical culinary dishes of Thua Thien Hue to be awarded out of the 121 selected dishes from a total of 421 nominations representing various provinces and cities across the country. With its rich historical heritage, Thua Thien Hue is a land deeply rooted in traditional Vietnamese cultural identity. Hue is renowned not only for its rich and diverse cultural heritage system and beautiful landscapes, but also for its distinctive cuisine. The spreading of Hue's culinary culture will contribute to the promotion of Hue's overall cultural identity and the establishment of “Hue - The culinary capital.”

Within the framework of this event, the Vietnamese Cuisine Culture Association officially launched the phase II - 2023 of their project with the “Delicious dishes of my hometown” program, with nominations from a community of experts, chefs, restaurant and cuisine businesses, and local authorities in the field of cuisine and tourism sector in Thua Thien Hue province. The program's results will be determined through evaluations and voting by experts and the local community of Thua Thien Hue.
