Tet (Lunar New Year) of Tiger 2022 is the second Tet that the spring sport activities cannot be organized because of COVID-19. And Hue people will probably recall the two big and typical folk sport activities to enjoy Tet, welcome spring.

That information was informed by the representative of leaders from Airports Corporation of Vietnam (ACV) – the project investor, on the occasion of Vice Chairman of the Provincial People’s Committee Hoang Hai Minh visited and encouraged the team of management, contractors, and workers to celebrate the Lunar New Year of Tiger on the morning of February 8.

On the morning of the 7th day of Lunar New Year (February 7th, 2022), Hue Monuments Conservation Center held a ceremony to lower the Neu pole and open the seal to greet the new year at The Mieu Temple and Trieu Mieu Temple (the Citadel).

From the 2nd to the 6th of the Lunar New Year of the Tiger, 2022, Thuy Thanh Commune (Huong Thuy Town) organizes a small-scale Bai Choi festival at the campus of the Commune's Farm Tool Display House.

The Tet fair in My Loi village (Vinh My commune, Phu Loc district, located to the South of Hue city) is traditionally only opened in the first three days of the Lunar New Year. The Tet Fair has been preserved and maintained for hundreds of years, showing the traditional culture of the countryside there.

At the Thai Family Ancestral House, Prof. Dr. Thai Kim Lan’s family had prepared banh chung, banh tet, phap lam, and phu the cakes from the previous day. After finding a satisfactory bamboo pole, the homeowner would perform a ceremony to worship the ancestors and then arrange incense table, candle, betel nut, wine, etc. in front of the yard to begin the ritual. Red couplets would also be prepared in advance and written in a conventional calligraphy style. In a dignified and joyful atmosphere to welcome the new year, the bamboo pole will be erected with the joyful jingle of the bell hanging from the top of the bamboo pole. The bamboo pole will celebrate Tet with the family and neighborhood until it is lowered on the 7th of January (Lunar Calendar) when everyone goes back to work in the new year.

The Union of Literary and Art Associations, under the Fine Arts Association, has just introduced an art exhibition to celebrate the Lunar New Year 2022 on their Facebook fanpage.

Within the space to introduce typical products and local specialties of the Lunar New Year 2022 at Hue Imperial Citadel’s Night Streets, a procession of local products was organized to re-enact "Offerings of the Spring" by the Organizing Committee and Hue Monuments Conservation Center on the morning of January 26th.

Among the activities to welcome the 2022 Lunar New Year, on the morning of January 25 (23rd December, Lunar calendar), Hue Monuments Conservation Center held the bamboo pole erection ceremony (Thuong Tieu) in Trieu To Mieu and Hien Lam Cac - The Mieu in the Citadel.

From January 23rd to 29th, Hue city will organize a space to introduce typical products and local specialties on the special occasion – The Lunar New Year - Year of Tiger 2022 at the night space of the Imperial Citadel.
