Digital transformation needs to be deployed to support businesses in expanding market access
10 tours are ready
The COVID-19 pandemic is still developing complicatedly all over the world. However, those directly involving in the “smokeless” industry believe that the pandemic will pass and the tourism sector will be back to normal in the near future.
The tourism sector has undergone a period of crisis. To promptly get back to operation and keep pace with the situation fast, it requires the sector to have an urgent preparation, in which, there must be solutions for advertisement, products, services, and tours.
Mr. Truong Thanh Minh, Chairman of the Provincial Travel Association informed that at present, the association has prepared 10 new tourism products and tours to put into operation. As soon as the pandemic ends, the association will carry out the stimulus program by directly come to 63 cities and provinces all over the country to introduce and do the connection.
These 10 tours will be exploited by 10 member businesses in the same market and services. The association will be active in collaborating with the state management agencies to make the connection supports more effective.
“According to the plan, the Travel Association aims at 2 important goals after the pandemic which are enhancing the promotion of the destinations and introducing the highly-stimulating set of products. Right after the pandemic, the association will take prompt action, aiming at attracting tourists coming to Hue as soon as possible”, shared Mr. Minh.
Mr. Nguyen Dinh Thuan, Director of Dai Bang Tourism Advertisement and Services Joint Stock Company said that many businesses in Hue have taken part in the national tourism stimulating coalition leading by the Vietnam national Administration of Tourism, in which, various tour packages are being discounted from 40% to 50% to stimulate tourists’ demand.
Dai Bang Tourism Advertisement and Services Joint Stock Company is actively using marketing online techniques to reach potential customers and build the communities with sets of detailed and customized products for each group of customers such as veterans, students, or families, etc.
According to Mr. Nguyen Van Phuc, Deputy Director of Tourism Department, previously, when Hue hadn’t recorded patients infected with COVID-19 yet, the tourism sector of Hue had already built some stimulus products. Now, the sector will supplement them with some new ones to enhance their richness.
The Tourism Department is carrying out 2 tasks in parallel which are doing surveys, grasping the businesses’ situation to know the remaining potentialities and aspirations of the businesses, and offering support packages to help the businesses recover; at the same time, it will build up the stimulus tours based on specific orientations.
Some businesses said that if they want to build the stimulus packages soon, there must be the policies from the sightseeing destinations first. Then, there will be promotion packages from accommodation and travel agencies. It is known that currently, Hue Monument Conservation Center hasn’t launched any policies for the new stimulus packages yet. Therefore, it should announce them soon so that the businesses can actively do their business.
Together, we overcome the difficulty
According to Mr. Nguyen Van Phuc, in tourism, the businesses will play the roles of helping concretize the sector’s objectives; implementing and exploiting the services and products. To help Hue tourism recover soon, it requires fast recovery and the activeness from the businesses.
The businesses proposed that to partly strengthen their “resistances”, it is necessary to have the mechanisms in the field of tourism that the province can handle such as tax reduction, land rent exemption, etc. The province needs to organize a meeting to listen to the sharing of travel, accommodation, and transportation businesses about their difficulties and find out the solutions for the recovery of the businesses.
That is the necessary policies to help the businesses that are suffering many damages from the pandemic. On the part of the businesses, this is an opportunity to restructure the organization, labor forces, products, and upgrade the services. Despite the difficulties, the businesses still have to make policies and plans to attract tourists, stimulate demand, give discounts, and restructure the products and markets.
Another important factor is solidarity. The leaders of the tourism sector said that during the pandemic, the solidarity among the businesses is being recorded; and it must be enhanced more and more by the time. In this respect, the agency of tourism management and the Tourism Association will further promote their roles of being the links.
A solution recommended by tourism experts for the businesses is promoting digital technology transformation so that after the pandemic the businesses can access more markets and reach more tourists. At present, Hue businesses are relying on their partners by “land tours”. Therefore, the ones who choose the destinations are the partners, not Hue businesses. Effectively exploiting digital technology will help Hue businesses directly access tourists and, at the same time, reduce costs and increase profits.
Chairman of The Provincial People’s Committee Phan Ngoc Tho requested the sectors: “Well prepare the conditions to successfully organize Hue Festival 2020. Keeping on exploiting the project of cultural-artistic space on Le Loi Street. Building up the scheme on “Renewing and raising the quality and efficiency of museum operation in association with tourism development” and on “The policies of private museum development”. Implementing the project and promoting the brand name of Hue – the Capital of Gastronomy. Expanding the connection between Nguyen Dinh Chieu pedestrian street and the cultural-artistic space, etc.”.
