Applying 50% off tickets to heritage sites that belong to the Complex of Hue Monuments contributing to stimulating tourism post-COVID-19

According to a report of Hue Monuments Conservation Center, from the beginning of the year up to now, the center has welcomed 202.300 tourist arrivals, a 62.7% decrease year-on-year. The total ticket revenue is 19.4 billion VND, just reaching 16% of the assigned estimate of 120 billion VND.

Due to the complicated situation of the COVID-19 pandemic, at present, the center was forced to contemporarily close heritage sites for pandemic prevention according to the guidance of the Thua Thien Hue Provincial People’s Committee.

Facing that situation, Thua Thien Hue Provincial People’s Committee proposed to reduce 50% of the entrance ticket price to the heritage sites belonging to the Complex of Hue Monuments from now to the end of 2021. According to the proposal, although giving ticket discounts will cut down budget revenue from selling tickets, it will play a role as a solution for stimulating and developing tourism, as well as attracting tourists to Hue cultural heritage more and more.

The delegates of the People’s Council of Thua Thien Hue Province voted on and passed this resolution.
