Acquiring new knowledge
In the first months of 2024, the Faculty of Mathematics, University of Education, Hue University welcomed many foreign professors coming to the university to teach. The opening is a series of lectures by Professor. Marc Chardin (Sorbonne University, Paris, France) and Professor. Laurent Busé (Cote d'Azur University, Nice, France).
Professor. Marc Chardin participated in imparting knowledge of the Koszul complex series, the Cech complex and the spectral series, the application of spectral series to prove the properties of the Tor function, the mapping cone, the longer joint series derived from the shorter joint series of homotopy and antihomology functions, the main index Castelnuovo-Mumford rule as well as the images of a rational map.
As for GS. Laurent Busé, he teaches determining approximate equations of curves and rational surfaces from their parameter representation based on the theory of eliminating variables, endings, and ideal Fitting through the matrix representation of linear syzygy moves or quadratic syzygy (plane and quadric moves) and the application of local cohomology.
In addition, the two professors participated in teaching the module “Local Cohomology” for academic staff, K-31 graduate students majoring in Algebra and Number Theory and some excellent undergraduate students of the Faculty of Mathematics.
At the scientific conference for academic staff, undergraduate and graduate students of the Faculty of Mathematics, Prof. Laurent Busé presented the report called “Determinantal tensor product surfaces and the method of moving quadrics” whereas Prof. Marc Chardin presented the report named “Image and fibers of a rational map”.

| Leading professors in France spreading new pieces of knowledge to lecturers at University of Education, Hue University |
Professor. Marc Chardin shared that he came to Hue University to spread new pieces of knowledge of mathematics in a mathematical cooperation project with faculty members of the Faculty of Mathematics, University of Education, where Dr. Tran Quang Hoa had just received the “Launching platform for bilateral cooperation in research between France and ASEAN countries” award by the French Academy of Sciences in 2023. The Faculty of Mathematics in particular and Hue University in general now have an international prestige, especially after the above-mentioned award. Therefore, Hue University will be the destination chosen by leading experts and professors to have more exchanges and cooperative activities in the coming time.
Dr. Tran Quang Hoa, Deputy Head of the Faculty of Mathematics, University of Education, Hue University shared that the professors' lectures provided new pieces of knowledge that students and faculty members might have not known before. Such professors coming to work at the Faculty of Mathematics offers a great opportunity for the research team and individual lecturers to have scientific exchanges, thereby gaining research experience. As for graduate students, they can experience European-style lectures, which opens up many opportunities for higher education later.

Contributing to the development of Hue University
Dr. Nguyen Xuan Huy, Deputy Head of the Department of Science, Technology and International Relations, Hue University, said that Hue University had welcomed dozens of leading experts and professors from around the world coming to its member universities to have exchanges and spread their professional knowledge in recent times.
Some prominent ones include Professor. Piero Cappuccinelli (University of Sassari, Italy), an honorary professor at Hue University. The professor has collaborated in research at the Institute of Biomedicine and taught the joint Master of Medicine training program in Biomedical Technology at University of Medicine and Pharmacy, Hue University; Professor. Jean-Jacques Durand (University of Rennes, France), coming to teach within the framework of the joint Bachelor training program in Finance - Banking, with the specilization in Currency - Finance, with University of Economics, Hue University; Assoc Prof, PhD. Tsutsui Kazunobu (Tottori University, Japan), coming to cooperate in research with academic of University of Agriculture and Forestry and University of Science on researching the possibility of rural development using internal resources (local resources) in Vietnam and monsoon Asia, under the impact of population decline and aging – KAS.
Annually, University of Medicine and Pharmacy, Hue University welcomes many experts coming to the university to teach, share experience, and directly provide professional training to doctors and students of the university. The most remarkable one is Doctor Chung Kyu Sung (Mirae Hospital, Korea), who has been a visiting professor at the University of Medicine and Pharmacy since 2020.
Besides contributing to the transfer of endoscopic techniques from basic to advanced to doctors at the Endoscopic Digestive Center, Hospital of University of Medicine and Pharmacy, Hue University, Doctor Chung Kyu Sung also participates in clinical guidance for students, young doctors and postgraduate students specializing in gastroenterology and scientific research.
Prof. Dr. Nguyen Vu Quoc Huy, Rector of University of Medicine and Pharmacy, Hue University, commented that the formation and development of the university to its current position and depth of quality was attributable to the generous contributions of leading experts and international professors who had come to the university to spread knowledge. These have helped update the expertise of the university’s academic staff and improve its quality according to international standards, and thus the university has become a site for important cooperation in the medical field all around the globe.
Hue University has currently established cooperative relationships with more than 400 universities, research institutes and educational science organizations in more than 30 countries around the world, as well as implemented 21 joint undergraduate and postgraduate training programs with foreign universities. Besides, Hue University has awarded the title of honorary professor to 38 foreign professors who contributed to the its development.
Assoc Prof. Dr. Le Anh Phuong, Director of Hue University, emphasized that more and more leading professors and experts chose Hue University as a destination to come and cooperate in teaching. This not only helps academic staff of Hue University acquire new knowledge, but also affirms the position and brand name of Hue University. Hue is an ancient capital, a peaceful city, and an ideal place for professors and experts to spread professional knowledge, travel, or even settle down. Therefore, Hue University will create a friendly and open working environment to become a destination for “world knowledge” in the future.
