Cycling and fundraising for poor children in Vietnam
TTH.VN - On the morning of March 26, the Children of Vietnam (COV) organization launched the 3rd "Cycling Out Child Poverty in Vietnam" event at Hanesbrands Vietnam Company Limited (HBI), at Phu Bai Industrial Zone, Hue city.

The "Cycling Out Child Poverty in Vietnam" event has the participation of 50 cyclists from international organizations, COV organization, Indotrek Company, and HBI Company.
The cycling team will participate in the 161-kilometer cycling journey from Hue to Da Nang from March 26 to March 28 including the following stages: Starting from Phu Bai, riding through the countryside areas to Hue city, and ending at the Imperial Citadel; then, riding from Hue to Lang Co; from Lang Co through Hai Van Pass and finishing the journey after reaching the destination at Dragon Bridge, Da Nang.
Mr. Nagalingam Subramaniam, a representative of HBI Company shared that they were very glad to accompany the “Cycling Out Child Poverty in Vietnam” event, as that activity was in line with HBI Group’s projects for the community, focusing on education and health care activities for Vietnamese children. This year, they have raised $180,000 for this activity.

All of COV’s activities are child-centered. With 20 years of experience, COV supports children with disabilities, children with single mothers, children without opportunities to go to school, and poor children living in mountainous areas. COV identifies the most urgent needs, and offers solutions based on community and people with the goal to eliminate the cycle of poverty, disease and homelessness, so as to provide timely support to children and their families in crisis.
