Hue city hosts an international workshop on popular occupations and impacts of the digital era
TTH.VN - On the 24th and 25th of July, Vietnam’s Ministry of Labor, Invalids and Social Affairs, Vietnam’s Public Occupation Service and the World Association of Public Occupation Service co-host an international workshop on “The most popular occupation in the labour market and their changing under the impacts of the digital era - The role of public employment services” in Hue City.
Many international experts around the world have attended the workshop
Deputy Minister of Labor, Invalids and Social Affairs Mr. Doan Mau Diep, Vice Chairman of the Provincial People's Committee Mr. Nguyen Dung and 34 experts from twenty countries such as Korea, Japan, Philippines, Belgium, France… attended the workshop.
The globalization of the labour market and impacts of the digital era have increased a need for comparable occupation data all over the world. Yet, there are still differences in the classification of occupations among countries. Public employment services (PES) should therefore provide an occupation classification as close to the international one as possible.
There are thousands of occupations on the labour market today. It is very difficult to gather information about this as well as to evaluate the extent to which the digital era impacts on occupations. Hence, choosing the most popular professions may be the best approach that PES has to undertake.

The workshop focused on the most common occupations in the labour market today, on how to collect, store and use recruitment databases as well as on forecasting occupation trends in the digital era and PES’s roles.
International experts have come up with initiatives, solutions and strategies to better address the most common occupation changes in the labour market under impacts of the digital era. The performance of appropriate actions, programs and solutions for job seekers, and enterprises’ recruitment needs were also emphasized in the workshop. On this occasion, experts also presented ideas to solve major problems and challenges that might be faced during the development process.
