The representative of the Oil and Gas Group ENI introducing the group's potentials and strengths
In an introduction about ENI Energy Company in Vietnam, Mr. Luca Dragonetti said that ENI was an Italian energy group, founded in 1953, and headquartered in Rome - the Italian capital. The group has been operating in 66 countries.
The ENI Group has been operating in Vietnam since 1965. Up to now, it has operated in a number of offshore exploration blocks, with a total area of more than 30,000 square meters.
In 2019, ENI Vietnam conducted a survey and exploration of the Ken Bau field (block 114) on Vietnam's continental shelf, about 65 kilometers from Quang Tri Province, and discovered the reserves of between seven and nine trillion cubic feet (Tcf) of natural gas in place, and about 400 - 500 million barrels of condensate. This estimated result of the oil and gas reserves is a historical finding of the oil and gas industry of Vietnam.
With this result, ENI Vietnam and its partners are implementing an overall assessment of the Ken Bau field in the following years, researching the plans for natural gas supply, and developing energy projects in Vietnam.
At the working session, Mr. Luca Dragonetti wished to have further information about the advantages, natural conditions, planning, and infrastructure in industrial zones, as well as the province’s plans for oil and gas development.
Chairman of the Provincial People's Committee, Mr. Phan Ngoc Tho welcomed the investment ideas of ENI Vietnam, which is in accordance with the direction and investment attraction policies of the province. Mr. Phan Ngoc Tho introduced an overview of the potentials and infrastructure of industrial zones in Thua Thien Hue Province; among which, Phong Dien Industrial Park and Chan May - Lang Co Economic Zone are suitable for investment ideas of ENI Vietnam.
The Chairman of the Provincial People's Committee has assigned the Provincial Department of Planning and Investment to support ENI Vietnam in its field survey and connection with related units.
