"From Thang Long to Phu Xuan and Gia Dinh"
It is a thematic exhibition that has just been opened at the History Museum on the afternoon of October 7, on the 60th anniversary of the Hanoi - Hue - Saigon (Ho Chi Minh City) twinned friendship. The exhibition is coordinated by Thua Thien Hue Provincial Department of Culture and Sports; Hanoi - Thang Long Heritage Conservation Center; and Ho Chi Minh City Department of Culture and Sports.
The exhibition introduces the history of formation and development, the exchanging relationship and twinned friendship among the three cities of Hanoi - Hue - Saigon
The exhibition introduces four themes including the Ancient Capital of Thang Long and the Central Sector of the Imperial Citadel of Thang Long - Hanoi (from the tenth to the eighteenth centuries); Thuan Hoa - Phu Xuan - Hue, a journey of more than 700 years; Gia Dinh from the seventeenth to the nineteenth centuries; and Hanoi - Hue - Saigon are "trees of the same root, offspring of a family".
The exhibition introduces to the audiences more than 80 typical antiques, which are pottery from the tenth to nineteenth centuries under Vietnamese feudal dynasties, from the Ly - Tran to the Nguyen Dynasties; nearly 200 documentary images, diagrams, and maps which are important, rare and precious historical data sources; and more than 50 photos and videos introducing Hanoi - Hue - Ho Chi Minh City, which are currently kept at the Hanoi - Thang Long Heritage Conservation Center, Thua Thien Hue History Museum, and Ho Chi Minh City Museum.
The exhibition also introduces nearly 1,000 books written on the history of the formation and development, the exchanging relationship and twinned friendship among the three cities of Hanoi - Hue - Saigon.
The exhibition lasts until October 31.
