Community Ao dai Week 2024 commences
TTH.VN - The Community Ao dai Week 2024, organized by the Department of Culture and Sports, officially opened on the afternoon of June 24th at 15 Le Loi Building, Hue City. This week-long series of activities and events aims to promote and spread the image of ao dai to the community.

Attending the event were Permanent Deputy Secretary of the Provincial Party Committee Phan Ngoc Tho, along with representatives from various departments, designers, and garment associations.
The event began with the opening of the Experimental Sewing Space and the “Beauty of Hue ao dai” art exhibition, along with a painting exhibition on the theme of ao dai at 15 Le Loi Building. Additional activities running until the 30th include a ceremony offering incense to Lord Nguyen Phuc Khoat at Truong Thai Mausoleum and a procession honoring Lord Nguyen Phuc Khoat and Emperor Minh Mang; a seminar and book introduction titled “Traditional Ao dai - The Journey of Return”; and the community art program “Hanoi - Hue - Saigon” at Nghinh Luong Dinh Pavilion.
Other events include the “Contemporary Ao dai of the Three Regions” photo exhibition at Kim Long village Communal House and the “Vietnamese Ao dai and Korean Hanbok” community program at Nghinh Luong Dinh Pavilion.

There will also be the “Ao dai Dance” event at Thuong Bac Park; the “Ao dai on rural roads” parade, “Folk dance and Ao dai,” and the “Ao dai and the rural market” art program at Thanh Toan tiled-roof bridge community tourism site (Huong Thuy Town) and the “Ao dai and Postage stamps" program at Half Moon Bridge (Hue City).
Additionally, the event will feature a “Cycling for the environment” event, the “Hue Craft Heritage harmonizes with Ao dai” program, and the “Ao dai Carnival - Vibrant summer colors”. Furthermore, numerous competitions, festivals, Ao Dai promotion events will also be held at various agencies, units, schools across the province, and at Dong Ba Market.

According to Mr. Phan Thanh Hai, Director of the Department of Culture and Sports, Community Ao Dai Week Hue 2024 not only helps residents and visitors gain a deeper understanding and appreciation of the traditional Ao dai - the National Dress - but also fosters a love for the nation's traditional cultural values. Additionally, it promotes culture, attracts tourism, and contributes to the socio-economic development of the locality and the country.
