Traces of the original foundation of the two houses of the Nine Holy Cannons are revealed

TTH.VN - On the morning of July 1, Hue Monuments Conservation Center announced that the Center had just completed an archeological excavation of the Left and Right Cannon Houses (the two houses covering the Nine Holy Cannons).

The archeological excavation was conducted cautiously, in compliance with the regulations on archaeological exploration and excavation of the Ministry of Culture, Sports and Tourism.

This archaeological excavation aimed to reveal traces of the original foundation of the two houses of the Nine Holy Cannons, the structure of the pavilion, the columns and the construction materials of these two structures. The findings will inform research and supplement the dossier of the project "Adaptive Conservation and Restoration of the houses of the Nine Holy Cannons.”

The archaeological excavation of the 60m2 area of two houses has revealed the layers of low-fired bricks of the foundation of the Left Cannon House, the column base and reinforced concrete in the Northeast of the Right Cannon House, the brick foundation structure along the west foundation of the Right Cannon House, reinforced structure of the column base along the west foundation of the Left Cannon House…

The archeological excavation was carried out in compliance with the regulations on archaeological exploration and excavation of the Ministry of Culture, Sports and Tourism. After the archaeological excavation work is over, Hue Monuments Conservation Center will report and propose a plan to manage and protect the archaeological area. The announcement of archaeological excavation results will be carried out by the Center according to regulations.
