Promoting closer cooperation between APEC economies and working groups
TTH.VN - A number of issues were discussed at the APEC Policy Partnership on Women and the Economy second meeting (PPWE2) in Hue city on the morning of September 26. The meeting was organized by the Minister of Labour, Invalids and Social Affairs,and Vietnam Chamber of Commerce and Industry (VCCI).

The contents discussed by the delegates are updating the implementation progress and proposing the next steps for the implementation of the PPWE strategic plan in the period of 2015-2018; strengthening cooperation among APEC economies and working groups in implementing the joint initiatives; finalising and approving the APEC gender inclusion guidelines; and completing a ministerial statement to be submitted to the High-Level Policy Dialogue on Women and the Economy...

Deputy Minister of Labour, Invalids and Social Affairs Dao Hong Lan affirmed that the APEC Women and the Economy 2017 Forum was an opportunity for Vietnam and the APEC economies to continue contributing to the common achievements and efforts; applaud the recognition of APEC leaders on the importance of women in the region; respond to the call of APEC leaders to promote and strengthen the economic power of women; on the basis of the key priorities identified at the women and the economy forums in the previous years, ensure the continuity of APEC cooperation and the objectives pursued by APEC; with the confidence in the good future that APEC will bring to women.
