Located in the central part of Vietnam, Hue is an ideal destination to learn about history, culture, and long-standing traditional values. Once the capital of the Nguyen Dynasty for many centuries, Hue, despite various upheavals, has still preserved its ancient features, monumental architectural works, and sophisticated, beautiful artworks with special historical-cultural values.

The ideas for designing a pedestrian bridge over Hộ thành hào (Citadel Protection Dike) connecting Thượng thành (Upper Citadel) have just been announced by the Hue Monuments Conservation Center. What many people are interested in is whether or not the idea of building a bridge is feasible and affects the heritage.

This contest is organized by Hue Monuments Conservation Center in collaboration with the People's Committee of Hue City, with the aim to explore creative ideas of public architecture (for pedestrians) from Nguyen Hoang bus station to Hue Imperial City area.

On the morning of February 23, the project ‘Hue - A City to Reduce Plastics in Central Vietnam’ (sponsored by the World Wide Fund for Nature (WWF) in Vietnam through WWF-Norway) and the Provincial Center for Innovative Startup officially launched the contest “Initiatives to reduce plastic waste - Hue 2023”.
