JICA sponsors nearly 260 billion VND for the construction of the walking path along the Nhu Y River
TTH.VN - On July 7, leaders of the Project Management Board on Improving Hue City Water Environment informed that the unit has started implementing the construction of the walking path along the Nhu Y River (Hue City) through the capital of nearly 260 billion VND sponsored by Japan International Cooperation Agency (JICA).

This route is 1.6km long and 6m wide, connecting from Dap Da (Stone Dam) to Duong Van Bridge, passing Phu Hoi and Xuan Phu wards. Along this route, there are also the parking lot which is 1.300 m2 wide, adjacent to Dap Da, and a 36m long arch bridge spanning over That Lat rivulet (Xuan Phu ward). Furthermore, there will be also 11 water wharves with granite rock-paved edge above. The space bordering the walking path, the house, and the locals’ gardens will be arranged with green trees and miniatures, etc.
The construction of walking path along the Nhu Y River is implemented by the joint venture between Thua Thien Hue Irrigation Construction Joint Stock Company and 568 – Hanoi Construction Joint Stock Company. The project is expected to complete on June, 2024.
After it is completed and put into operation, the work will contribute to making Nhu Y River become a highlight for visiting, sightseeing, and creating a new look for a green – clean – beautiful Hue urban, belonging to the master plan of Thua Thien Hue construction to 2045 and the 2065 orientation to become a city rich in cultural identity, heritage, landscapes, and environmental-friendly.
According to Mr. Nguyen Thanh Tuan Anh, Director of the Hue City Water Environment Improvement Project Management Board, the construction of walking path and river embankments along the Nhu Y River belongs to the project of Hue City water environment improvement (phase 2). In the first phase, the project has been implemented since August 2015, with wastewater treatment and drainage works which are completed and put into operation.
