Launching a collection of precious paintings by Hue artists

TTH.VN - Many precious fine art works by famous artists of Hue, collected by Hue Museum of Fine Arts over the past 5 years, are being introduced to the public for the first time.

The fine art exhibition themed "The fine art works - A collection of Hue Museum of Fine Arts", on the occasion of the 5th anniversary of the establishment of Hue Museum of Fine Arts (2018 - 2023), has just been launched and opened to the public on the afternoon of December 5 at 15 Le Loi Street, Hue City.

The event was attended by Mr. Phan Ngoc Tho, Permanent Deputy Secretary of the Provincial Party Committee; along with representatives of leaders from units, artists, representatives of families of artists and late artists, as well as art loving public.

The exhibition displays and introduces to the public 140 works of fine arts in various forms, including painting, sculpture, graphics, and video art.

Among them, there are 68 works that Thua Thien Hue province invested in collecting funds with the criteria that famous artists and sculptors are Hue people, or the ones who are living, studying and working in Hue, contributing to building Hue Fine Arts, from the first decades of the 20th century up to the present. They are the fine art works by major names, such as: Ton That Sa, Buu Chi, Hoang Dang Nhuan, Truong Be, Do Ky Hoang, Vinh Phoi, Dinh Cuong, Ton That Van, and Phan Xuan Sanh, etc.

In addition, the exhibition also introduces 40 works given by the Vietnam Fine Arts Association, and 32 works presented by organizations and individuals.

On this occasion, Hue Museum of Fine Arts received a fine art work themed "The Truyen Lo Ceremony" by the late artist Do Ky Hoang, presented by Hue Monuments Conservation Center; and two fine art works themed "The Harmony of Spring Music" and "The Great Central Highlands in my eyes" by artist Tran Nguyen Dan, which were given by himself.

According to Ms. Dinh Thi Hoai Trai, Director of Hue Museum of Fine Arts, the exhibition aims to express the gratitude for the great contributions of artists, organizations and individuals, who have contributed to building and developing Hue fine arts in general, and Hue Museum of Fine Arts in particular. At the same time, it also aims to express the deep gratefulness to the agencies, departments, branches, individuals and organizations, who have paid attention to preserving and promoting the cultural and artistic values of Vietnam in general and Thua Thien Hue in particular.

The exhibition lasts until December 31.
