1.7 billion VND from SEEDS scholarship program is awarded to Thua Thien Hue students

TTH.VN - On the afternoon of December 7. The Provincial Association for Learning Promotion held a ceremony to launch the SEEDS scholarship program of Thai Binh Circle Organization (The US) for the academic year 2023 – 2024.

 Awarding SEEDS scholarships to students

The scholarship program for Developing Education and Skills in Thua Thien Hue (referred to as SEEDS) is sponsored by the Thai Binh Circle organization with the direct management of the provincial association for learning promotion. SEEDS scholarship program has been implemented in Thua Thien Hue for 6 years, with a disbursed budget of over 11.5 billion VND.

This is a major scholarship program that interviews students starting from the 8th grade. Those who are selected will be granted scholarships from the 9th grade, and if they still maintain their excellent scholastic achievements, meeting the criteria for skills, and suffering difficult living circumstances will continuously receive the scholarships at high school and university levels. The sponsors will increase investment in students who demonstrate real potential, good scholastic achievements, and reduce support for those do not show significant progress or experience declining academic performance.

In the academic year 2023 – 2024, SEEDS provides 202 scholarships to Thua Thien Hue, including 38 scholarships to students from junior high schools, 86 scholarships to high school students, 18 scholarships to Thua Thien Hue students currently enrolled in universities nationwide. Furthermore, there are also 6 scholarships to students with extremely difficult circumstances, 11 scholarships for English summer course, 14 scholarships for summer camps, 19 awards to those reaching high academic performance, and 4 laptops. The total budget for these scholarships is over 1.7 billion VND.

From December 11 to 13, the sponsors will come to Thua Thien Hue to interview 59 students and 3 university students receiving SEEDS scholarships. To create opportunities for students, a conference with the participation of leaders of education sector and school administrators have discussed solutions to strengthen management, consultation, and preparation for good mindset for students participating in the scholarship interviews.
