A heritage must belong to the community, which must be held, jointly protected and promoted by the community, to be durable. The Ao dai is a special heritage of Hue Ancient Capital, and it belongs to the community.

On the morning of May 1st, Hue City Women's Union, in collaboration with Hue City Labour Federation, Hue Youth Union, and Hue Sports and Culture Information Center, organized an event called “Ao Dai by the Perfume River.”

During a recent tourism survey in Malaysia, Hue tourism businesses chose to wear the traditional Ao Dai when working with partners.

This project is in keeping with the province's resources and socio-economic development orientation. Also, it is believed to be able to exploit and promote the strengths of the culture and people of Hue as well as developing cultural industries.

On the night of March 6, Hue Monuments Conservation Center announced that they would offer free entrance ticket for female tourists wearing traditional Ao dai to visit relics on International Women’s Day.

That is the desire of Mr. Phan Thanh Hai - Director of the Department of Culture and Sports when talking about the revival of Ao dai at the scientific conference "Promoting the value of the Nguyen Dynasty Ao dai in contemporary life, promoting Hue to become the capital of Ao dai Vietnam" which took place on the afternoon of December 22.

Graduated from a pedagogy school, then attached to embroidery profession, yet the Director of Doan Trang Embroidery Trading & Service Co. Ltd. has an endless passion for Ao Dai and has been the Ao Dai designer for the last 10 years. She has confirmed her name through fashion shows at home and abroad.

The designer Quang Hoa has collaborated with the designer Maria Elena di Terlizzi from Italy to design 60 contemporary Ao dai which are both traditional and modern for a show in Rome next year.

In the gala program “Khúc giao mùa” held to celebrate Vietnam Cultural Heritage Day on November 23, Viet Bao, an ao dai artisan and designer, has introduced a collection named “Tram Tich Xu Tho” (the “Sediments of the Poetic Land”) at Duyet Thi Duong Theater inside the Imperial Citadel.

The exhibition "Ancient ao dai of the Nguyen Dynasty", in a collection of Prof. Dr. Thai Kim Lan, was opened on the morning of November 6 in Lan Vien Co Tich space - Huong River Museum of Antique Pottery (at 120 Nguyen Phuc Nguyen Street, Hue City).
